Privacy Policy

Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the M.P.B. Builders, Inc. website (also known as Modern Pole Builders, Inc.), which we refer to below as the “Site.” M.P.B. Builders is a family-owned post-frame construction company based in Ripon, Wisconsin. This policy covers information collected through the Site. It does not cover information you provide to us in person, by phone, or through a separate written agreement for construction work.

Information we collect

Our Site is informational. You can browse nearly all of it without giving us any personal information. We collect personal information only when you choose to send it to us:

Contact form. When you use the form on our Contact page, we collect the name, phone number, email address, and city you enter, along with the message or question you write. We use this to respond to your inquiry. Your submission is delivered to us by email, and we send an automatic confirmation email to the address you provide.

Direct email. If you email us an employment application or a referral, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that email and its attachments.

Automatically collected information. When you browse the Site, our analytics provider records which pages you view and when, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and the site or search that referred you. This is described in more detail under Cookies and tracking below.

We do not require you to create an account, and the Site does not collect payment information.

How we use your information

We use the information you send us to respond to your questions, prepare quotes and provide our services, process referral rewards, and review employment applications. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies and tracking

The Site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and how they found us, so we can improve the Site. It sets first-party cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ followed by a property identifier) whose purpose is to tell one visit apart from another. We look at the results in aggregate, not to identify you personally.

We have turned off Google’s advertising features on this property, including ad personalization and cross-device signals. We do not run advertising or tracking pixels, we do not build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not track you across other websites.

Third-party services

A few features rely on outside services, and those services may receive limited information when your browser loads them:

Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4. Google processes the information described under Cookies and tracking on our behalf, and receives your IP address as part of each request. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts hosted by Google. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and standard request information.

Video. Our About Us page embeds video from a third-party host (Wistia). That provider may set its own cookies when a video loads or plays.

Project photography. The photographs in our project gallery are delivered from a content-delivery network operated by DigitalOcean. When your browser requests an image, that provider receives your IP address and standard request information. It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.

Email delivery. When you submit our contact form, your submission is relayed by a small service we run on Cloudflare and delivered as email by Resend, an email delivery provider. These providers process the information you submit, and your IP address as part of the request, to deliver your message to us, to send you the confirmation email, and to keep the form from being abused by automated senders. We do not use your IP address for advertising and we do not store your submission on the relay.

Spam protection. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people apart from automated software. When the form loads, your browser communicates with Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and standard request information. Turnstile does not show ads and does not track you across other websites.

3D designer. Our 3D designer is a tool hosted by another company (IdeaRoom) on its own website. We link to it, and it opens in a new tab. It is not part of this Site: anything you enter there, including a design you save or submit for a quote, is collected by that company under its own privacy policy, and it may set its own cookies. If it sends us your design and contact details, we handle them the same way we handle a contact form submission.

Links to other sites. We link to our Facebook and X (Twitter) pages, and to suppliers and industry associations. These are ordinary links: we do not run social media plug-ins or pixels on the Site. If you follow a link and leave our Site, the other site’s own privacy policy applies.

How your information is handled and kept secure

The Site itself is a set of static web pages with no customer database, and it does not store your submission on the web server. Information you send through the contact form is transmitted to M.P.B. Builders by email, through the delivery services described above, so we can respond to you. We keep it only as long as needed for that purpose and for our ordinary business records. We take reasonable measures to protect the information we receive, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can visit the Site without giving us personal information. If you have sent us information and would like us to review, correct, or delete it, contact us using the details below and we will do our best to help.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The Site works normally either way.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date shown above. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
